Last April 24 I left for Cagayan de Oro via *gasp* bus. I had this little vacation planned out way ahead and I really planned to go there via bus and then go back home via plane. The original plan, though, was that I would join my fellow Davaoeno’s in a night time bus ride (leaves at 10 pm) but I changed my mind and traveled earlier because the idea of being inside a bus at night for 8 hours just scared me, specially with all the recent vehicular accidents that’s been happening around the world. I’m paranoid. I know, I know.
Okay, first of all, let me tell you about my not-too-good bus ride. I had chosen a perfect seat by the window when I rode the bus from the station and everything was fine the first few hours because no one sat beside me (thanks to my bag being in the seat next to me hehe) and the sun was on the opposite side of the bus. I fell asleep for some time and was awoken by the feeling of water on my skin. I looked at my arm and there it was. Water on my skin. I look up and didn’t find a source so I tried to go back to sleep. A few seconds later, I felt it again. So I look up and saw that the aircon was leaking!! Like, wtf, right? I tried to move towards the window, almost sticking to the wall of the bus, just so the drops wouldn’t hit me… The aircon kept leaking and it was starting to pool in my chair. Not a good sign. Turns out, the guys behind me were also having the same problem. Except theirs looked like a friggin’ faucet. (LOL) So we called the bus man dude (forgot what they’re called) and he told us to transfer seats and was muttering about how other people shouldn’t close their aircon because then the other open aircons would get all moist and start leaking… or something like that. So, I moved seats… sat beside this other dude opposite me… and tried to sleep. When we were more than half way to our destination, some people alighted (LOL so Singaporean) from the bus so some seats were vacant again. As soon as I saw a window-seat free, I moved there and made my little nest. I regretted doing this as soon as I saw… mini cockroaches by the window… and on my bag… and on the seat… Oh, the horror. I don’t even want to talk about it anymore ‘coz it’s like reliving all of it. Anyways, at least now you know how much of a nightmare more than half of my ride was. =,=
And then I reach Cagayan after 9 hours of travel!! I met up with my friend Joseph who picked me up at the station and we proceeded to Pizza Hut for take out before heading back to his place and resting for the night. The food adventure starts the next day and we started it off with…
Lunch at Tokyo Bubble Tea!!! We went to their new mall, Centrio, and I saw Bubble Tea and it just captivated me with its pinkness! I mean, umm, cuteness. Cuteness. >.>
While I fanboyed over their menu and the food selection…
Joseph was busy deciding on which drink to get. Bubble Tea, Smoothie…? Which one!?
Then our food arrived!! I had the Yakiniku Beef Rice while he had the Sizzling Chicken with Black Pepper Sauce! His plate looks nicer. Both dishes are delicious, though!!
And we had our bubble tea!! I had honeydew and he had almond. Yum!
How to pour gravy over your food tutorial by Joseph. Utter concentration. THE ART OF IT ALL!!!!
After we stuffed our stomachs full, he proceeded to give me a tour of their new mall.
At a toy store:
These mice peoples creeped me out… I dunno…
At an P88 Japanese store:
We spelled EVIL using these plant letters. LOL
And Joseph found the weird stirrer he gave for his mom as a present. LOL It’s bent in the middle so you can hook it on cup edges.
Now walking around eating candy:
At a shoe store:
And then we decided to eat cake at Candy’s because we wanted to sit and use WiFi. LOL
Meet the Cara-Vanille cake! Loved the textures on this one. Chewy, soft and crunchy all in one. Delicious!
We only shared one because we were still too full from our lunch. =,=
While he’s distracted by whatever it was on his iPad…
I kept eating away at the cake. Mehehehe~~~
Here’s a few photos of Candy’s Centrio Branch!
Place looks pretty cool, huh? Anyways, guess what we did afterwards?
Eat again!! Haha I saw a Kenny Roger’s earlier in the day and I told him I wanted to eat there again because our branch in Davao closed down.
Had their classic roast chicken and my favorite mashed potatoes and corn muffin! Joseph had their spaghetti! Oh, how I miss their chicken skin!
And here’s a selfie to end the night!
That photo ends my first full day in CDO.
We start the next day with… guess what again? Food!!! This time, we drop by one of my favourite places in Cagayan. Missy BonBon! We didn’t want to eat a lot because it was close to lunch and we wanted to have lunch… so we decided to share one power breakfast meal! The Power Omelette!
After a bit of waiting…
OUR FOOD ARRIVES!! Just look at that perfection. Two perfect toasts on the side of a delicious looking power omelette with white sauce. Too bad we had to share this. i could have taken it by myself!!! I need moar!!!
*ehem* So, anyways, after our not-so-little breakfast, we head to SM for the Cagayanime event! Yay! We got there early so we walked around the mall and ended up in a toy store again.
We are mature desu! Wanted to take the Jake toy but… money… *le cries*
So, anyways, the Cagayanime event commences and I’m still eating and drinking. Didn’t take a photo of the bucket of fries I bought… because then it’d make me look fat.
Sat beside Trixi during the event! Didn’t really take too many photos with my DSLR because I was feeling lazy and just wanted to relax and enjoy my mini vacation. >___< I have my moments. LOL.
We stay ’til the end of the event and had to leave early because I had to order donuts as pasalubong for my family back home.
We proceeded to J.Co for them donuts~ Bought two boxes!
And since we weren’t going to sleep because I need to be at the bus station that’ll take me to the airport at 2 AM, we decided to get take out from Yellow Cab!! Ordered a calzone…
Paired with a glass of coke and some comedy series, we were ready for the long night! Haha!! Just kept eating ah!!!
We went to a 24-Hour McDonalds to wait for the bus stop to open and ordered fries. LOL. Ugh, non-stop eating, I tell you!
McDonalds told us to start a conversation but we didn’t coz we were too sleepy to do anything except take photos. So, to end this post I leave you with a selfie at McDonald’s at 2AM! LOL.
Our faces show we lack sleep. LOL.
And just so you know, my trip going back home was WAAAAY better than my trip going to CDO.
Probably never going to take the bus again if I can help it. Ugh.
