What do you get when you combine a holiday weekend + a hungry family + lots of time to spare? Well, for the Li family it was a trip to Huni Farm.

Huni Farm

Huni Farm‘s slogan is “Natural, Fresh, Organic” because that’s exactly the experience that you get when you dine at the farm.

Located an hour away from central Davao (could take longer, depending on traffic), you’ll find Huni Farm in Barangay Wangan, Calinan District. It takes a bit of effort to drive to but trust and believe that the trip is worth it!

The Food

Huni Farm

I’m going to dive right to it because this is mainly what I want to talk about. Huni Farm offers what I think is the best farm-to-table dining experience in all of Davao. Most of the ingredients that they use for their food is sourced right from their farm so you can expect nothing less than fresh, all-natural food from their menu.

When we visited, Huni Farm held their weekend lunch buffet for P450 / person. And what do you get for this? An array of delectable dishes that you can tell, even from just looking at them, are made with the freshest possible ingredients!

The buffet offers appetizers, bread, salads, soup, various dishes featuring beef, chicken, pork, and fish, desserts, and drinks!

Needless to say, we were utterly satisfied with the food! The savory dishes had enough flavor, despite being organic, to satisfy even my tastebuds. And the desserts and drinks were adequate. (I loved the coffee gelatin!)

The Farm

What makes dining at Huni Farm a unique experience is the fact that you get to dine outdoors, at their garden, surrounded by various flora (and some fauna). They are located far from the hustle and bustle of Metro Davao so you get to relax and breathe in fresh mountain air while having a sumptuous lunch.

There are flowering plants, leafy plants, and even plants that grow sili (a type of chili pepper), which you can pick for use at your table!

In case of rain or if you’d rather have a roof over your head while eating, they have an indoor dining area (with its own buffet table). So whether you want to be one with nature or dine with nature as your intimate neighbor, Huni Farm has you covered!

The Experience

Overall, it was an amazing lunch with the family. The food was great, the place was great, even the staff were friendly and helpful!

If I had the time and energy to drive out to the farm, I would. If you haven’t tried it out yet, I highly suggest you block out a weekend for a trip to Huni Farm. You won’t regret it, especially if you’re into organic, natural food and want to escape the city for a few hours.
